History

Loisaba Wilderness is a beautiful place that has comfortable accommodation with numerous wildlife. It has luxurious accommodation from Lodge, The House or The Cottage of authentic African style that will ensure you feel pampered and well taken care off while having a good time under the unspoiled Kenyan stars on one of the Star Beds or exceptional treatment of the renowned Loisaba Spa. Apart from the nice accommodations there are some attractions. The main attractions are camel safaris, walking, horse riding, river rafting, game drives and wilderness adventure.

Activities

Walking Around

Those who want to walk around will be accompanied by traditional Samburu guides who have knowledge of the environment and history is that is unmatched. While walking around it would be better to spend an afternoon at the traditional Maasai village where you will experience the Maasai dance view some bead work.

Camel Safaris

Camel Safaris are more or less the transportation in dry land of Northern Kenya and another way to experience Loisaba.

Wilderness Adventure

Wilderness Adventure is one thing you may not want to miss. Loisaba wilderness is bigger and you could take months exploring it and never come across the same place again. You will see extraordinary animal life that is wild, free and exhilarating to observe and a variety of bird life both migratory and endemic. In addition, there are also mountain bikes that offer another way to explore Loisaba terrain and spectacular flora and fauna or if you are generous you could support the building of the local school through Loisaba's "Quads for Classrooms" programme.

Game Drive

One nice way to view the wildlife at Loisaba is on a game drive. There are tour guide that will take you in an open vehicle across the plains, river bank, bush and viewing of birds, plants and trees. This is a destination where you can see Lion, Wild dogs, regular sightings of Leopard and sanctuary for Mugie Rhino. In the course of the game drive, you can go fishing in the river and dams all year round while the equipment can be procured together with drinks and a picnic.

River Rafting

River Rafting can be experienced in the afternoon at Ewaso Ngiro and Ng'are Narok rivers that flow through Loisaba in two person inflatable rafts. If you are not interested in river rafting, horse riding on the plains while viewing herds of zebra in a forest of giraffe with herds of elephant. Another thing to note is that it's possible to get close to wildlife since the horses have been reared in the bush so they are used to the presence of wild animals.

Lewa Children's Home History Lewa Children's Home provides a loving environment, nutritious food, clean water, education and support for abandoned, orphaned or abused children in a family setting. It is headed by Spokesperson, Phyllis Keino who has been caring for orphaned Kenyan children since 1964. It follows that Phyllis Keino's philosophy is that education is the most important gift you can give a child, which has been an inspiration to so many people in Kenya and around the world. In order to share in this philosophy there are ways to contribute one being stock donation and any other type of donation. It is located in Eldoret adjacent to the KipKeino School built by "Bread and Water Africa" and the Baraka farm. The main reason was to allow children to be a walking distance from the school.
